Skilled exhibit fabricators building a curved wood reception counter and modular trade show booth in a professional workshop
Custom exhibit carpentry and fabrication
Custom exhibits · Chicago

Design the visitor experience, operating plan, and show-site scope together.

Start with business goals, visitor actions, products, staff, media, hospitality, storage, and event constraints. The resulting concept can combine rental systems with purpose-built wood elements, refined finishes, and integrated technology.

Made by exhibit craftspeople

Wood fabrication turns a concept into a durable, show-ready environment.

Experienced fabricators shape, fit, finish, and preassemble custom exhibit components before they travel to the show floor. Click either workshop image for a larger view.

Discovery-led process

Move from objectives to a buildable Chicago show plan.

The process is organized to expose constraints early and preserve a clear handoff from design intent to operational execution.

01

Discover

Define audience, visitor actions, product and demo needs, brand expression, staffing, storage, media, budget context, venue, and show deadlines.

02

Concept and scope

Translate the brief into layout, material, graphic, technology, furniture, lighting, and service assumptions that can be reviewed together.

03

Verify and execute

Resolve engineering, show rules, production details, freight, installation, dismantle, and on-site responsibilities through approved documents and schedules.

02

Define responsibilities before deadlines become emergencies.

Custom exhibit success depends on more than the physical structure. The written scope should distinguish exhibit materials from graphics, technology, freight, material handling, labor, electrical, rigging, internet, cleaning, and other show-appointed services.

  • Official event manual and organizer deadlines
  • Assigned footprint, orientation, height, and access
  • Product, demo, media, hospitality, and storage requirements
  • Move-in, show days, dismantle, and return logistics
Choose the right starting point

Custom discovery can begin with a blank brief or a current rental reference.

Use the exhibit collection to communicate scale and features, or start directly with the project intake when no existing option fits.

Review current rental and LED references.

Exhibit facts and media remain tied to their verified source details and current pricing state.

Custom exhibit intake

Share the show, space, audience, and design goals.

The same five-step lead system handles custom discovery and preserves your entries if online delivery needs recovery.

Direct public uploads remain disabled until private storage, signed access, scanning, and retention controls are configured. A private transfer link can follow consultation.

Custom exhibit FAQs

Clarify the process before committing to production.

These answers describe planning practice and do not replace the event manual or written project agreement.

When should a company consider a custom exhibit?

A custom path can be useful when brand architecture, product demonstrations, hospitality, storage, media, or visitor flow cannot be resolved through a standard rental starting point. The recommendation should follow discovery rather than a generic size threshold.

Can rental components still be part of a custom concept?

Yes. A written proposal can combine reusable rental systems, custom graphics, fabricated elements, technology, furniture, and show services when that mix supports the approved goals and schedule.

Does a custom consultation guarantee venue approval?

No. Final plans remain subject to the official event manual, organizer and venue rules, fire-safety review, engineering needs, and any required service-provider approvals.

How are freight, labor, and venue services handled?

Those responsibilities should be separated in the written scope. Some services may be coordinated through the exhibit team while venue-controlled or show-appointed services can remain separate orders or pass-through costs.
